• Metal – Penis rings in stainless steel and other non-rusty metals are very popular, but they are very inflexible and can be hard to get on and off. • Silicone – Silicone is by far the most used sex toy material because of its strong yet elastic properties. It’s body-safe and fairly cheap to make and it can easily be molded into the desired shape. A lot of penis rings it made of silicone since it makes it easy to stretch the ring with your finger and put it around your penis and/or balls. There are several types of silicone with different properties that give the sex toys/penis rings a special feel and function. Some silicone penis rings are transparent while others have a solid color, some are very stretchy while others er super hard. • Glass – Glass is a bit like metal since it’s not flexible hence not that great for penis rings. The size has to be perfect for the ring to be useful and not tighten too much or fall off during sex. Glass is a very popular material for dildos which makes more sense, but I would not recommend a glass cock ring if you’re a newbie in this space.

There are many different types of rings that all sit on your penis/balls in different ways. You must put it on the right way to get the most effect out of your product.

Tips and Tricks

Cock rings are very popular and it’s most men’s first sex toy but it can be difficult to use the first time if you don’t know what you’re doing and maybe you haven’t got the right size for you.

Here are some of my favorite tips and tricks for using a cock ring:

• Don’t use a cock ring for more than 30 minutes at a time! You’re restricting the blood flow from your penis and it should never be done for more than a half hour because it might cause damage to your penis tissue.
• Get the right size with an adjustable ring or a multi-pack. There are countless size guides online for penis rings and you might get lucky and get one that fits you in the first try, but chances are that you get one that’s either too loose or too tight. This can be avoided by getting a pack of rings as your first purchase. Then you can figure out what size you feel fits you the best and then go for better rings with that size.
• Try using a cock ring alone before with a sex partner. It can be quite difficult to put on and take off a cock ring and you should lean it before using it with a sex partner. There is nothing worse than spending minutes fumbling with a condom or penis ring before sex. It can be a mood killer and ultimately result in missed or failed sex. Give it a few tries when you masturbate so you’re comfortable with it and know how your body reacts to it.
• Lubrication makes it difficult to take off. Removing a silicone ring around your penis when it’s covered in lube can be very difficult, especially if it’s dark and you’ve never tried it before. Avoid putting use at the base of your penis, it doesn’t have any function down there either.
